Platos Apology

Analysis Of Apology by Plato: [Essay Example], words GradesFixer

For many centuries, many people continuously have two different stances in the Crito, which is one of the several Platonic dialogues. Some believe that it was more righteous for Socrates to follow the Athenian laws and face his punishment. Others believe that he should not have suffered and have his last remaining moments unfairly taken from him. Despite the fact that Socrates accepted his penalty, he should have left with Crito because the trial was, overall, unfair. Zeus is unfair to many people but this instance he was especially unfair. Argument 1: Zeus had a cruel side to him, like many ancient gods, such as when he punished Prometheus for stealing the flames of Olympus and giving them to the mortals, thus giving the mortals ability to evolve and learn.

Response To Plato's Apology

At the onset of the trial, Socrates appears to challenging the charges, which included corrupting the youth, challenging belief in the gods that were accepted and reveled by the State, and introducing a new religious focus, but also belittles his own significance and suggesting that he will not attempt to disprove that. I believe that Socrates was innocent of the accusations that were made against him, but he possessed contempt for the court and displayed that in his conceitedness and these actions led to his death. Socrates corrupts the youth by telling them his unorthodox ideas that differ from the rest of the society, and in response the other members of the society claim that Socrates is poisoning the minds of the youth.
It narrated the speech delivered by Socrates in his own defense at his trial. In BC Socrates was put under trial on the following stated charges against him like corrupting the youth of Athens and for impiety, atheistic beliefs or disbelief in the gods of Athens. The decision to bring Socrates to trial is motivated by their speculation that his influence and popularity was a serious threat to the democracy of Athens.
